Each year the Orchestra entertains and inspires the people of Western Australia through its concert performances, regional tours, innovative education and community programs, and its artistic partnerships with West Australian Opera and West Australian Ballet. WASP is also dedicated to fostering the after generation of musicians through its Young and Emerging Artists program which provides professional development opportunities for young conductors, composers and instrumentalists. Each year the Orchestra performs over 175 concerts with some of the world’s maximum talented conductors and soloists to an audience in excess of 190,00. Passion and Inspiration We are passionate and committed to providing our audiences with inspiring and memorable experiences. In addition to many performances in our own season, WASP has an extensive performance calendar in partnership with other Australian arts organizations. Since moving to Perth in 1997, oak has enjoyed being a member of WASP. In addition to his orchestral work, he performs as much chamber music as he can, and enjoys teaching abundant students at home. In 2004 she moved to Melbourne to examine as a packed scholarship student at the Australian National Academy of Music. Also during this time she attended many orchestral and chamber music camps and was the leader of the West Australian Youth Orchestra for a number of years. She has a keen interest in period performance and was segment of Festival Baroque Australia in 2011. Behind working as a freelance musician and violin teacher in Adelaide, Melanie moved to Perth after successfully auditioning for her job with WASP in 2008. Now permanently based in Perth, Jack’s ambitious musical life includes conducting, playing and teaching. During his time in London he not only played with maximum of the world’s leading conductors and soloists, but also played in contemporary music ensembles with Irvine Arditti and was a founding member of the Rossetti Ensemble. Behind his first year of scrutinize Andrew was awarded a contract position with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, where he remained until 200. Peter particularly loves performing contemporary oboe music, and often includes new works in concert programs. He teaches at the School of Music at the University of WA and at the WA Academy of Performing Arts. Maximum recently he performed the Mozart Concerto, a work he has performed over 12 times with WASP, as piece of a regional tour conducted by his preceding student and associate conductor of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Chris Dragon. In 2009 he spent a year on contract with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, where he also studied with Andrew Brain and Peter Luff, before returning to Sydney to total his degree. In addition to this Frankie continues to have a passion for teaching at both tall school and tertiary levels in Perth. During this time, he also worked regularly with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Since becoming a member of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra he has also worked with a variety of smaller ensembles, including touring nationally with the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Vladimir Verbitsky's repertoire includes more than two thousand works from the standard repertoire as well as contemporary music, opera and ballet. The orchestra also performs with the West Australian Ballet and Opera companies and has highly developed educational, regional, talent development and audience development programs.
