Once you unbox it, all you have to do is set it up- the dog fence wire is run around the boundary of your property and then connected to a small dog fence transmitter via a unique radio FM frequency. The radio signal is then projected from the wire to create a dog proof barrier. When the dog approaches the radio barrier the collar he's wearing gives off a warning tone and then a static pulse to discourage your dog from going near or beyond the barrier.
