My approach to design is Keep it simple Functional. Our clients approached us for a custom home design on a picturesque site along the Swan River. The family home was to primarily incorporate two stores, with the ground glossy willing open plan living, dining and kitchen that diffuse into external gardens and courtyards with primary outlooks towards the parkland and river. The entry pavilion houses the main living area to the ground floor and the main suite above, with both levels accessing river and suburban views. The main living and dining area with its double volume expanse houses the study space on an upper floor in a strategy that allows an aural connection to the ground slick kitchen. Good automatic lighting was a priority to minimize dependence on synthetic lighting. The ground floor deck also includes an outdoor BBQ area for a casual eating setting. Each bedroom features a box window seat to retreat and appreciate the outlook to the landscaped gardens, whilst the main suite windows appreciate controlled views to the ocean beyond. Breezeway House is a custom design family home which seeks to maximize space on a small, narrow lot. The color palette is decidedly monochromatic with crisp white textured render complete to the exterior, and a smooth white finish to the interior to diffuse the quality north light deep into the home. During the day, these screens permit the control of the elements such as the wind and sun while maintaining views toward the adjacent beach and river. The scrutinize and outdoor dining spaces also enjoy views out towards the river. The client had expressed a desire for classical architectural symmetry to the outside and interior design of their fresh home. Privacy is maintained to the below living area by a screen brick wall, with perforations to bear outlook, but at the identical time unclear the view from the street. Towards the back, a lesser courtyard nestles adjacent to second sitting room, laundry and garage with the ability to begin the spaces out to create a large indoor outdoor space. The house is well suited to entertaining, with a important kitchen that opens onto abundant sized living and dining areas, and an outdoor living area overlooking Lake Jualbup, encouraging indoor outdoor living. These screens bear the aptitude to partition children’s play areas from dining and living areas whilst also allowing visual and physical access from the living spaces to the various outdoor courtyards. The main living spaces are located on the first floor to take advantage of views over the park and the ocean. The clients were keen to accomplish a contemporary and minimalistic aesthetic with a limited palette of materials and color tones to emphasis the plain building forms and form a backdrop for their art collection and furnishings. A distinctive blade wall forms a central spine to the building, connecting the intersecting volumes and providing a visual focus from all spaces of the building. Situated on a ambitious corner site in North Cottesloe, this residence was carefully designed to address its distinguished beach side location, with the crafty placement of outdoor living areas to maximize views to the beach whilst the placement of openings and orientation of inside spaces are designed to enable the application of passive solar design principles, achieving access to automatic lighting and cooling breezes. A timeless material palette conscientious planning creates a home that brings the outlook of the park in whilst maintaining a sense of privacy. Fifth Harmony fans are now only a month away from getting their hands on a fresh album. Various architectural strategies such as batten screens, ribbed structures and louvers addresses the need for privacy from both the adjoining neighbors and street, while gaining quality spontaneous light into the interiors.
